| Monday, January 08, 2007 Glad Mr. Whitehead, I'm glad that you were not an adviser to President Lincoln or Churchill or any other great leader. You will always find find people to point out the cost even if there figures are self serving and not right. How can you or anyone else know how many people would have died if we would not have gone to Iraq? Man you're good! How do you even know how many of these so called innocent people were actually innocent. you say they were not wearing Terrorist uniforms. How insane! The New York times, Wow now there goes a real group of statesmen. I think that everyone at that paper should be in prison for treason especially for giving away classified secrets leaked to them by Colon Powell and his buds. I have some good news for you. The terrorist are thrilled that the Democrats are back in power so if you can campaign for one of them to be President in 08 you can get us out of the war on Terror. We can just make a deal with the Muslims. Maybe give them New York and California and we can have PEACE IN OUR TIMES! Now where have I heard that before? Pastor Tim Rehashing I above all respect your and the Institutes overall accomplishments. But why just do the same old same old in rehashing what we already know: That Iraq is one devastating dehumanizing and deadly conflict between those opposing forces made up of its own inhabitants and the lunatics who are coming in from other nations. If you have no clue as to a solution, or even an idea why bother to voice a concern for the innocents. We all can do that. Cost us no exertion or risk. I'd call your words 'hand wringing' and nothing more. Good people of all faiths are prone to do this. Leaders of all faiths seek solutions. And make no mistake, the US pulling out without settling the situation is a disastrous idea of historic proportions for the region, America and the West. Please collect your considerable intellect and give it another try! Regards Sam S. Possible Dear Friends at Rutherford, It is possible that all of the facts in your commentary are absolutely true. However, my question would have to be: Would you prefer to have these events occurring within the United States? In my opinion, Iraq is ground zero in the war on terrorism. War is ugly, dehumanizing, and a travesty in every sense of the word; but tyrants must be stopped. And radical Islam will stop at nothing until they grind us as their meat. Respectfully yours, B.J. Intervene Dear John, After reading your piece on the toll in Iraq I have to ask: What would you say to another Hitler rising in the world? I often wonder how today's UN would respond. In a morally vacuous world whom but the United States will intervene in places like Sudan, Ethiopia and North Korea? Like Jesus said in Luke 10:37 after telling the parable of the good Samaritan, "You go, and do likewise." So, John, what happens when no one will intervene? Sandy Christianson Alamo, CA Winnable I would venture to say, John,. that a major reason our troops are suffering from those issues you mentioned is the same problem we had in Viet Nam---division of the nation by our enemies both inside and outside of the country. Viet Nam, just as this war, was arguably a winnable war had we gone IN to win and FOUGHT to win in the first place. This piecemeal, "surgical warfare" is, frankly, a bunch of crap that drains the good guys as well as the bad guys. I have to admit that I believe there are many places in this world where the Neutron Bomb would be the perfect solution. Keith G. Drag Us Into War Hi, I really appreciate your comments about the Iraq war. Though I am a Christian broadcaster (we own two Christian FM Radio Stations), I cannot follow the status quo position being taken by radio station owners and Christian ministries. President Bush and his associates manipulated the situation to drag us into war. Depsite the recommendations by Generals and other experts, Bush continues to force us to continue to fight a war with no purpose other than the one he made up "that it is a terrorist war" I am glad the Democrats won big in this election. It was the first time that I voted almost entirely for Democrats.. but people like James Dobson, etc.. continue to assert that we should be voting Republican .....My question is, Why? Do we really want people that cover up Foley's Follies to be in office? Thanks for being open and honest! Joe B. Retreat Your commentary implies that if the United States military forces leave Iraq, the situation will in time heal itself. I disagree. Conditions in Iraq are the result of a "cancer" called (Muslim) Tererorism. Yes, If one does not oppose this cancer, the hurting will temperarily ease up. But it is only for a short time. And, worse yet, without opposition, what happens? The cancer spreads...and spreads,,,and spreads. If you do not object to a relatively small number of (Muslim) Terrorists running your life and the lives of your family...your nation...this world, then you are correct. But, sir, you had best think this situation out to the very end before you ask our military to retreat. Stan G. Faith The manner in which the war has been conducted is criminal. I do not put any (zero) faith in human rights/United Nations reports however. The UN has not solved any problem anywhere. The UN is a failure and is an enemy of the U. S. and is also socialist/communist. The most humane way to fight a war regardless of the reason for the war is to fight as God directed Saul to fight; burn, destroy, eliminate, conquer. It was in fact what Sherman did to the south (fellow Americans) and the way we subdued the American Indian. If we can do that to the Indians who were in most cases no threat and to our own brothers in a civil war then we certainly should do it to terrorists and a religion that promotes lying to win, intentionally killing anyone; man, woman, child. If America fought Hitler like all the crappy-assed pseudo wars since you and I would be speaking German. My father-in-law fought with Patton at the Battle of the Bulge and he killed the enemy with his hands. There was no fuel as we all know, but there was also almost no munitions. Men fought like hell to survive. The weapons used were hands, knives, gun butts, bayonets, and siphoning hoses. It is criminal to send one decent American soldier to any war and then make him fight with constraints. The only humane thing to do is go to war, wipe out the enemy, end the war, make the enemy sign the truce and BRING OUR YOUNG MEN HOME. Hell, this is even humane to the enemy. The PC, diversity, socialist world is crazy. Romney D. Thursday, January 04, 2007 Thanks Thanks for this: Somehow we should try to across to those responsible for the "meat grinder" that such utterly violent intolerance is no way to build any sort of civilization nor indeed be human. What would the Middle East be like if the people there cooperated and worked together to make the most of their God-given assets, of which there are many?It is not America's fault that they are the way they are have long been so.
