PBS 'For the Record' Interview With John W. Whitehead, Rutherford Institute President, Available Online

Charlottesville, VA--For the first time, WHTJ PBS' "For the Record" interview with John W. Whitehead, president of The Rutherford Institute, is available online at www.rutherford.org for viewing. In the interview, which first aired in October 2005, Charlie Sydnor, host of "For the Record," interviewed Whitehead about The Rutherford Institute's efforts to defend civil liberties and human rights. In particular, Whitehead will address concerns about the USA Patriot Act and the impact of 9/11 on American civil liberties.

Now in its fourteenth season, "For the Record," a weekly public television series produced by WHTJ, was created to bring central Virginians thoughtful discussions and first-hand insight into the worlds of politics, public policy and the office of the presidency. "For The Record" is also produced in partnership with the University of Virginia Miller Center of Public Affairs, a research institution dedicated to the compilation of knowledge concerning the American presidency and government policies and communicating this information with the public. "For the Record" is distributed nationally by American Public Television (APT) to PBS stations across the country, including Atlanta, Philadelphia and New York City. Host Charlie Sydnor is an internationally-known historian specializing in the history of Nazi Germany, policies of persecution, crimes of the Nazi Regime, and the history of the Holocaust. Guests have included people from the world of politics, public policy, journalists and historians such as Katherine Graham, Bob Woodward, James Baker III, Dick Cheney, Robert Dallek, Michael Beschloss, Margaret Warner, Nightline's Ted Koppel, The Newshour's Jim Lehrer, and many more.
