Rutherford Founder Pens Book Warning of Police State

From One News Now

John Whitehead, founder of the Rutherford Institute, has written a new book called A Government of Wolves.

The subtitle is "The Emerging American Police State," and it's based on many years of research by the Rutherford Institute leader.

What the book proves was underlined by recent revelations, says Whitehead.

“The police state that I see developing in the United States was recently revealed, really, with the National Security Agency's revelation that they are downloading all this information from the Internet, knowing our bank accounts, reading our emails,” Whitehead explains.

He adds the FBI's admissions that they're downloading American citizens’ phone calls now and listening to what we're saying.Whitehead, John (Rutherford Institute)

So basically the police state described in George Orwell's novel 1984 is happening now. He says there's another stat that's alarming – an increasing number of military-style SWAT raids – and it happens each year.

“Eighty thousand SWAT team raids across the country now, with armed troopers going through doors, and these are called the police,” says Whitehead.

“They have assault vehicles, helicopters,” he adds. “Soon they'll have drones equipped with massive weapons, drones that'll have scanning devices they can see in your home. So all the signs that I see are pointing to the fact that a police state is emerging in this country.”

A lot of the SWAT team raids, which have increased by 10,000 over the past decade, are for misdemeanors.

So far America has not awakened to it and that's the purpose of the book. Whitehead says there are things that the public can do to counter it, and that's covered in the last chapter.
